Winchester University isn't a real university. Well, there is a University of Winchester in the UK but it's not this one. This satirical college recruitment video not-so-subtly exposes a concern that diversity is seldom present in post-secondary recruitment materials. What do you think of this satirical video? |

This is perfection, its funny, but the message is really clear and very intense. The movie "Dear White People" is deffinetely something i really want to watch because it just shows how racism is far from over, because it has become much more passive.

You make a really good point, people need to realize racism is not over.

This sums up most advertisements for products or places, and companies try to be "diverse", and end up having one tokin' black guy, or some other stereotype of a race. It ends up misrepresenting an entire race, and audiences draw opinions based on these displays.

"And I' wondered, what happened to that black guy in advertisements" I then realized "I'm that black guy!" This just describes how passively racist society really is, I totally agree.

This was both funny, and pretty accurate to how people try to promote diversity without actually putting any effort or... diversity into it. "We need some pictures for this, but everyone can't be white... hey! You're black! Stand here, and here, and here, and here." And like, you can't just be like "Crap, we need a black guy" So often we see pictures of a group of white people with one black person thrown in, rather than a group of actually diverse people. Like, maybe a group photo of a club that has Asian, Indian, Aboriginal, Hispanic, Caucasian, and Black people in it, rather than try to manufacture something that really doesn't need faking. It's not hard to find a racially diverse group to take a picture of.

I agree with Jimmy that this was funny but very accurate. People tend to force diversity, but really it should just come naturally. The part where the person said he was now that black guy pretty much proves that it seems that they need to put a black person there so it seems diverce and everything. Like, why not post pictures of people actually being sociable without having to pose a different colored person in it to make it seem diversed and be diverse instead of looking like a try-hard.
